SCHOOL UNIFORM RULES

• Wearing the school uniform is a way for students to identify with Montfort School. By wearing the uniform, students demonstrate pride in their Catholic school and show respect for themselves by dressing in a dignified manner. The uniform also helps reduce competition in dress due to contemporary styles. Students are expected to arrive at and leave school in full uniform.
• Students are expected to maintain cleanliness and neatness in their appearance at all times. The school uniform must be worn on all working days and for all school functions. Students who are slovenly dressed or not in uniform will be sent home.
• Sandals, clogs, or loafers are not allowed except on rainy days.
• Jewelry is not permitted, except that girls may wear one pair of post earrings; no hoops or bangles are allowed. Studs and earrings for boys are not allowed. Students are required to come to school without makeup, nail polish, mehndi, perfumes/deodorants, tattoos, etc.
• Shirts must be full sleeve in winter and worn tucked in always. Care should be taken when stitching the shirts.
• The uniform for boys and girls shall be of plain cloth without design or decorative stitching. Low waist pants, narrow bottom pants, tight-fitting pants, etc., are not allowed.
• Students belonging to various religions and ethnic groups cannot adopt the customs of their religion/culture/group in the school uniform.
• The school uniform is a sacred and prized possession of a student. Any violation of its sanctity calls for firm disciplinary action such as suspension or termination. Visits to restaurants, malls, cinemas, multiplexes, or other public places in school uniform are serious breaches of discipline inviting disciplinary action.

BOYS’ & GIRLS’ UNIFORM GUIDELINES

Boys

• Classes I–III: Carbon Blue pants and Purple-Blue stripe half sleeve shirt with school emblem, formal black leather shoes with Velcro, Carbon Blue socks, school tie, and school belt.
• Classes IV–X: Carbon Blue pants and Purple-Blue stripe half sleeve shirt with school emblem, formal black leather lace shoes, Carbon Blue socks with purple stripes, school tie, and school belt.

Girls

• Classes I–III: Blue tunic over Purple-Blue striped half sleeve shirt with school emblem, school tie, school belt, black leather Velcro shoes, and Carbon Blue socks.
• Classes IV–X: Carbon Blue skirt with Purple-Blue striped half sleeve shirt with school emblem, school tie, school belt, black leather shoes, and Carbon Blue socks with purple stripes.
• Classes XI–XII: Uniform will be intimated at the time of admission.

Winter

• Navy Blue Blazer (compulsory), Carbon Blue Pullover with school emblem, Carbon Blue muffler and cap (caps not allowed in classrooms). Full sleeve shirts must be worn. Jackets of any type are not allowed.

P.T. Uniform

• Students of Classes I–X must wear the prescribed P.T. uniform every Wednesday and Saturday.

HAIR-DO

The proper school uniform for boys includes a decent haircut and clean-shaven faces. For girls, they must keep their hair as per the regulations of the school. Improper hairdos will invite disciplinary measures and a possible suspension until the hair grows to a normal, acceptable cut.

Hair Guidelines for Girls:

• Short hair: Must be kept neat and tidy with a white hair band.
• Long hair: Must be divided into two plaits and fastened with a white band or white ribbon.

Boys:

The hairstyle should be short and smart, and the use of styling gels and coloring of the hair is not allowed.
